Everything is bigger in Texas. One referee is trying to prove that everything is faster, too.
A high school football referee is going viral for his performance officiating a game in Texas last month. A TikTok posted by personal trainer @rinniewilliams3534 shows a player catching a pass and completing a nearly-70-yard run into the endzone. Right next to him? A referee running up the sideline to meet him there. "The fastest referee in the state of Texas," the video was captioned.
The video from October 24 has since gone viral, receiving over 600,000 views. Users in the comments were totally shocked by how fast the referee was running.
"Bro can be a track star," one user said.
"Bro said u not making that touchdown b4 me," said another.
"Referee was waiting all season for this moment," another user said.
While it's unclear which football game this video was taken at, local news outlets reported the game was Center High School at Carthage High School on October 21. The Carthage Bulldogs went on to defeat the Center Roughriders 64-28.
