Blake Shelton reflected on his relationship with Gwen Stefani 10 years after meeting her on the set of The Voice.
“If I could have a repeat of these past 10 years, [that] would be perfect,” Shelton said in a new interview with Entertainment Tonight while talking about his future with the No Doubt star and her three sons from her previous marriage, Kingston, Zuma and Apollo. “Next month, we've got an 18-year-old, which it blows my mind that already happened. And in a couple of years, we'll have another 18-year-old. And that's... it's gonna be I guess a lot more alone time, which I'm not mad about that either. …But we still have Apollo, so we have another almost 10 years before we can kick him out, so it should be a lot of fun.”
Shelton, who said in the interview that being a stepdad has been life-changing “in every possible way,” featured Stefani as a surprise guest to mark the grand opening of his new bar in Las Vegas, Nevada. On Tuesday evening (April 16), Shelton took the stage at the newest location of Ole Red (joining previously-existing establishments in Tishomingo, Oklahoma; Orlando, Florida; Gatlinburg, Tennessee; Nashville, Tennessee, and the Nashville Airport). He brought Stefani to the stage after her highly-anticipated No Doubt reunion at Coachella and flying back to Nashville for a wedding before the Vegas grand opening. The husband-and-wife duo performed “Nobody but You” and “Happy Anywhere.”
Shelton and Stefani met in 2014 and confirmed their relationship the following year. The “Purple Irises” singers announced their engagement in 2020, and got married in July 2021 in a stunning ceremony on Shelton’s Tishomingo ranch. Shelton told PEOPLE in a 2022 interview: “Even though I'm a stepparent, I take that job very seriously. …I’ve made plenty of money, but you can't buy time back. I don't want any regrets. …It's time to push some of this [work] stuff out and let more family and personal life in.”
