Lainey Wilson made an unexpected wardrobe choice when she took the stage during one of her recent headlining shows.
The reigning ACM and CMA Entertainer of the Year wore an inflatable Halloween costume that gave the appearance of Wilson sitting on the back of a giant chicken. She shared photos and videos from her recent tour stops on Instagram on Monday afternoon (November 4). One video, appearing on the fifth slide, captured Wilson performing âCounting Chickensâ in the costume.
âHalloweekend on the road đ Who let the chickens out? Thank you Little Rock, Evansville and Charleston â€ïž,â Wilson wrote in her caption.
âCounting Chickensâ is one of 14 tracks that appeared on her highly-anticipated new album, Whirlwind, which she released in August. The record follows Wilsonâs Grammy-winning Bell Bottom Country (2022), and includes âCountryâs Cool Again,â âGood Horsesâ with Miranda Lambert, âWhirlwind,â âHang Tight Honeyâ and more. âCounting Chickensâ is one of the love songs on the project â amid Wilsonâs relationship with boyfriend Devlin âDuckâ Hodges â along with â4x4xUâ and others.
âWhirlwind is kind of the Western sister of Bell Bottom Country,â Wilson previously said in a statement. âSince that album, I have gotten to experience so many new things and meet folks from different walks of life. Because of that, Iâve become a better songwriter, and I have more understanding. I feel like Iâve truly stepped into what it is that Iâm called to be doing. Ironically, I found my path within all the crazinessâand thatâs the whirlwind.â
